Gameplay

In this classic adventure, you step into the role of Mario and journey through the Mushroom Kingdom. The mission is to overcome challenging obstacles, defeat enemies, and ultimately rescue Princess Toadstool from the villain Bowser. To clear each stage, Mario must reach the flagpole waiting at the end of the level.

Along the way, players can collect scattered coins and discover mystery bricks marked with question symbols. These blocks may reveal extra coins or hidden power-ups when hit. Regular bricks can also hold surprises, so it’s worth breaking them whenever time allows.

Grabbing a Super Mushroom makes Mario grow into Super Mario . In this form, he is larger, stronger, and can smash bricks above him. If Super Mario takes a hit, he simply reverts to his smaller form instead of losing a life.

Finding a Fire Flower transforms him into Fire Mario , giving him the ability to launch bouncing fireballs. Another rare item is the Super Star, which grants Mario temporary invincibility when he becomes Star Mario.

Star Mario

While powered up as Star Mario, enemies are defeated instantly with just a touch. This state doesn’t last long, so it’s best to make quick use of it. Players begin with a set number of lives, which are lost if Mario takes damage without protection, runs out of time, or falls into a pit.

Enemies and Battles

Different enemies react in unique ways. Jumping on a Koopa makes it retreat into its shell, while a Goomba is squashed flat. Buzzy Beetles also turn into shells when stomped. Fireballs can take out many foes and sometimes reward you with coins. Each world ends with a castle stage where Mario must face Bowser on a dangerous bridge.

Tip: Watch for hidden routes and shortcuts to save time. Since every level is timed, moving quickly not only helps survival but also boosts your score.
